Maureen Baker, PhD, RN, CNL, CHSE is a clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Molloy College , and her master’s degree in nursing education from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Baker went on to earn her doctorate at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2017, focusing on the crucial components of patient engagement, or how to engage patients more fully in their health and health care. Her dissertation was titled “Nurse Perceptions of Engaging Low-Income Mothers in a Mental Health and Parenting Intervention”.
Dr. Baker is an Apple Distinguished Educator who seeks to infuse innovation and creativity in her courses offered in the BSN, ABSN, MSN and DNP programs.
